Chess in Tampere

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does chess cost in Tampere?

Chess is one of the most affordable hobbies, as clubs are typically volunteer-run, so fees are low or sometimes nearly free, often well under a couple of hundred euros a year. Exact prices are shown on each club's own page.

What age is chess suitable for?

Children can start learning chess from around ages five to seven, as soon as they can follow the basic moves. Clubs usually group juniors by playing strength rather than age, so beginners of different ages learn together.
